Last week I went on a short trip with a friend and I tought I would share it with you.
We went to a big lake called Lake Tama (多摩湖) west of Tokyo. If you live in the city it may take an hour to get there by train but it makes for an excellent day trip.
In front of the lake there is a park which offers enough space for sports or a nice Hanami. Cherry trees are provided of course ;)
This is part of the park. In one, two weeks the trees should be in full blossom!
The lake itself has a beautiful green colour. There is a concrete way around it, which is very nice for takeing a relaxing walk.
Around the lake there is much to see as well. There is a baseball stadium nearby and also a small amusement park. If you're lucky you can also spot the trainloving men waiting at the tracks to take some photos.
This photo is taken from the lower one of two dams in the lake. Its right above the park.
If you were wondering, the parks name is Sayama Kouen? (狭山公園). If you plan on going by car, it can be a bit confusing a first, but there is a small parking lot on the southern side of the lake. THe road around the lake is also very nice to drive.
Oh and if you have to use the bathroom, why not use this piece of art?
Why enjoy a quiet and peaceful restroom time when you can have everybody watch you! :D
(There are other bathrooms as well, don't worry!)
Have a nice day!
