The spirit

Did you watch the final of FIFA women's World Cup 2011?

As you know, Japan got the world cup title for the first time after penalty shootout against USA.
It's been said the match was one of the most thrilling finals in women's world cup.

In the match, not only two incredible equalizers but also two outstanding saves in penalty shootout.
Cause great team USA played better than Japan and created a lot of chances to score,
you might think Japan was lucky.

However, Japan kept showing the spirit which is "never give up" through the match,
and it came to be "something bigger(commented by US goalkeeper Hope Solo)".

How did it come from?

So let me show you a comment of Homare Sawa, Japanese midfielder who scored absolutely fantastic equalizer in 117 min.

"We knew that what we were doing here could be about a little more than just a football tournament. If winning this makes one person, someone who lost something or someone or was hurt or damaged by the events that touched our country, feel better for even one moment, then we have really achieved a most special thing. If it makes everyone happy and joyful and gives them a reason to cheer after such difficult times, then we have been successful. Japan has been hurt and so many lives have been affected. We can not change that but Japan is coming back and this was our chance to represent our nation and show that we never stop working. This is like a dream to us and we hope our country shares it with us."

Yes, you've done!
We're very proud of you, dear nadeshiko :D
