Let's take a walk!

Rainy season in Japan is finishing soon.
How about taking a walk on sunny days?

I'll recommend you nice Osampo(taking a walk) course in Yamate in Yokohama.

This is "French Mountain(France Yama)" that is the hillside between "Harbour View Park(Minato no mieru oka Kouen)" and the canal.
038.jpg 039.jpg
There's a windmill here.
040.jpg
Although it was a hot day, I could feel cool winds when I was taking a walk there.

If you prefer more quiet place, go to "Yamate Italian Hill Garden(Yamate Italia Yama Teien" that's located near Ishikawa-cho Station.
042.jpg
043.jpg
1880-1886,there used to be the Consulate of Italy here, so this place was called "Italian Hill" before.

045.jpg
You can see two beauriful houses in Italian Hill Garden.
047.jpg
This is "Bluff 18" which was built for foreigners after the Great Kanto Earthquake(1923).
048.jpg
And this is "Diplomat's House"
This house was belonged to Sadatsuchi Uchida who was a diplomat, and originally it was built in Shibuya. But it was moved to Yamate in 1990s.
You can also see the inside of Diplomat's House for free.
Around the house, there are a lot of beautiful flowers.

Yamate is an ideal place for couple to take a walk...
113_1343.jpg
Like them, let's enjoy talking about the nature...

'Wow, what a beautiful bird!'
'Yeah,I want to be free from you like that bird...'

Hello, everybody.
How are you today?

We have sad news today.

One of my great coworker, Noriko is leaving Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro today.
I am so sad about it.
Me and Noriko started working same time, 4years ago in this hotel.
She has something that I don't have, and I learned many things from her.
Her work skill was great and she always helped me a lot.
Also, we had so much fun when we work together.
Every single moment that we were together is great memory.

Last weekend(on11June), there was Japanese Lesson at Sakura Cafe.
CIMG5195.jpg
CIMG5206.jpg
Many foreign students came to join, and in this lesson we learned how to exchange name cards in Japan.

CIMG5197.jpg
Sasaki Teacher explained what to say when you exchange name cards.
Say company name,and your name...
For exemple: Sakura Hotel no Mihoko to moushimasu!

Let's give it a try!
CIMG5196.jpg
Nice to meet you! See the partner's face...not camera.
CIMG5201.jpg CIMG5203.jpg
The practice of exchanging name cards made us become friends easily..
CIMG5204.jpg CIMG5199.jpg
After finished exchanging name cards, let's say 'Yoroshiku onegaishimasu'

CIMG5202.jpg
Wow,great! He can exchange name cards politely like Japanese business people!

CIMG5200.jpg
Kyung Soo(left) from Korea and Huy(right) from Vietnam.
They became friends through this Japanese Lesson!

Hey everybody! Did you enjoy learning business culture of Japan?
CIMG5208.jpg

Learning Japanese is so interesting!
Let's join with us next time!

Our event “FIESTA vol 5” was held on 11th of June.
Over 70 persons joined and seemed to enjoy their evening :)

This is the pic on that night.
fiest6.jpg

Hey, can you see the person having a camera, is far left in the pic?
Do you know who he is??
He is.. yes, our staff, Hideki.
http://www.sakura-hotel-ikebukuro.com/staff.php
He was off duty on that night and joined the event.
He was also supposed to take pics of the guests though,
I noticed that he mostly enjoyed drinking and chatting with our guests.
Whenever I saw him, he seemed to enjoy having his time with girls!

You see?
fiest2.jpg

And see?
fiest3.jpg

Hey Hideki, instead of being taken, you took enough photos, didn't you?
And... you tried to find your future bride, didn't you? :D

Basin cold noodles in Korea!?

I love Korean food.
Especially,my favorite Korean food is 'Naengmyeon', that is Korean cold noodles.

When I was in Korea, I heard the rumor that there's a huge Naengmyeon like a basin in Incheon..
So I went to Incheon to look for a huge Naengmyeon with my friends!

116_1644.jpg
Oh my god! This Naengmyeon was too big and heavy....It was truly 'basin'

116_1645.jpg

I can put my face into this Naengmyeon bowl.
To our surprise,it costed only 3.500won(about 3.5USD) then.Cheap!
I hope that price didn't raise until now....
116_1643.jpg
I couldn't eat all, but my friend ate all!!!!! Incredible!

My Korean friends tried to eat Bibim-Naengmyeon(cold noodles with red pepper).
Bibim-Naengmyeon looks so spicy,doesn't it?
116_1642.jpg
Needless to say, they gave up eating all......

That basin Naengmyeon was not only big and cheap but also tasted good.
Unfortunately, many tourists don't know because that place is far from Seoul.

If you have a chance to go to Korea, you should eat the basin Naengmyeon.

I found a temple, Gokokuji, while taking a walk last week.

I walked to there from Ikebukuro, but actually can use a subway (only 2 station).

go2.JPGgo3.JPG

It was on weekday, so there are only few people.

It is a DAIBUTSU.

go6.JPG

I got DAIKICHI which is the LUCKIEST one!!!
and is said...
Even if there are a lot of serious things now, there is a thing good afterwards!

Oooooo, I'm so glad~~~~

If you visit Japan and have time, please try OMIKUJI and test of your luck (>o<)

Who is he????

110_0676.jpg

Polar bear? White cat???

No,,He's a puppy of pomeranian.
I had one pomeranian when I lived in Vietnam.
But I don't think he's a real pomeranian..After a few monthes, his shape changed like Chihuahua.

So I called him 'Fake Pomeranian'

110_0691.jpg

110_0700.jpg

His name is Ribbon, He was so mischievous, he liked to bite me. He got out of hand...
But he's lovely,isn't he?

Although I called his name a lot, he just ignored like this....
110_0675.jpg
Look at his face!

He was only 3 monthes baby at that time..
...but his expressive face looked like an old man.

Ribbon,what are you thinking????
