In December, you will see many many people hunging around on the street
at night and some are already drunken...
You might be think...'what happend here??'
But I can tell all seems having good time and happy...so it just fine...
We, Japanese people, have 'Bonenkai' at the end of the year.
A Bōnenkai (忘年会, literally "forget the year gathering"?) is a Japanese drinking
party that takes place at the end of the year,
(Year End Party、Forget Year Party as English translation
but there is no exact translation in English)
and is generally held among groups of co-workers or friends.
The purpose of the party, as its name implies, is to forget the woes
and troubles of the past year, usually by consumption of large amounts of alcohol. A bōnenkai does not take place on any specific day,
but they are usually held in December. (by wikipedia)
It's very symple thing, get together and go to Izakaya, and first make a toast
and then talk and laugh together...
People saying 'when we gonna have 'Bonenkai?'' or 'let's have a 'Bonenkai'
And this might be a kind of Japanese custom and to get a chance to meet people and talk about the year we spent and also wish a happy new year to people...
Do you have custom like this in your country?
Um, wait a minutes....
After a new year, we going to have 'New year party' everywhere....
Well....Japanese is party people??
